Getting started
Open Digestoa and point your camera at any barcode — you'll get a transparent 0–100 score, a plain-English verdict, the additives and exposures most scanners skip, and a cleaner swap. No barcode? Snap the ingredients label and Digestoa reads it for you. You can use the app as a guest, or create an account to sync your scans, saved items and feel-trends.
Common questions
A product wasn't found — what now?
Digestoa looks up products in the Open Food Facts database (3M+ products) first. If a barcode isn't there, the app falls back to a web-grounded lookup and, as a last resort, reads the ingredients label you photograph. If something's still missing or looks wrong, use “Report an inaccuracy” on the product screen so we can improve it.
How is the score calculated?
Every 0–100 score is built from weighted dimensions — processing (NOVA), additives, oils, sugar and exposures — and the app shows each one's contribution so there's no black box. Tap any score to see exactly what helped and what hurt. The score measures the product, not you: your allergens and diet show up as personal alerts and never change the number, so any two foods stay comparable.
Are the pesticide, heavy-metal and microplastic figures exact?
No, and we never pretend they are. They're estimates based on a product's category and packaging, clearly labeled “estimated” with a confidence level and sources. We'd rather be honest than alarmist.
What does Digestoa+ include, and how do I subscribe?
Core scanning and scores are free. Digestoa+ unlocks deeper reports, compare mode and your long-term feel trends, as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription (a free trial may be offered on the yearly plan). You can subscribe from the app; billing is handled by the App Store or Google Play.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed and managed by your app store, not by us. On iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Digestoa. On Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Digestoa. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I already paid — how do I restore my purchase?
On a new device or after reinstalling, open Digestoa, go to the paywall or Settings, and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy. If it still doesn't restore, email us.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app, go to Settings → Account and choose to delete your account — this removes your account and associated personal data. You can also email [email protected] with “Delete my account”. If you used the app as a guest, your data lives only on your device, so uninstalling removes it.
Does it work offline?
Your recent scans are cached, so you can pull them up without a connection. New scans need data to look up the product.
Which languages and regions are supported?
Digestoa localizes verdicts, labels and the interface to your region. It currently speaks English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Turkish, and works with packaged foods worldwide.
How is my data handled?
We collect the minimum we need, we don't sell your data, and you can delete it anytime. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Report an inaccuracy
Found a wrong score, a missing ingredient, or data that looks off? Tap “Report an inaccuracy” on the product screen in the app, or email [email protected] with the product name and what looked wrong. Reports go straight to us and help fix the data for everyone.
